MISSION

The mission of Project: Math++ is to help kids with the challenges faced in mathematics. Project: Math++ was founded on a student-to-student model: it is written by a student and made for students. Therefore, it uses language that is easy for students to understand.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Project: Math++ is written by me, Nitin Seshadri. Besides math, my biggest interests are computers, electronics new and old, and of course, music. I am also a black belt in karate.

THE STORY

I created Project: Math++ when I was in 7th grade and I worked through summer break to get it up and running. The idea for it came when I noticed that some of my classmates were having trouble with using their TI-84 calculators with certain kinds of problems in my 7th grade Algebra I class. To help them, I wrote 4 sheets of paper with directions on how to solve these problems, complete with drawings of the calculator screen at each step. My math teacher saw these and, knowing that I was interested in technology, suggested that I make a website using these “episodes” as a starting point. That’s exactly what I did.
